White County 4-H K-9 Good Citizenship School


White County 4-H will be offering a K-9 Good Citizen school in 2008 and 2009. Classes will be offered for students in grades 4th-12th. An informational meeting will be held Monday October 6, 2008 at the White County Middle School Auditorium. The instructor for the class will be Ms. Francie Delony a UT Extension Volunteer. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. and their will be a live demonstration by Ms. Delony at 5:30 p.m. There will be a $25.00 registration fee for the school. The school will consist of approximately 8 classes. Basic obedience and other advanced trainings will be included in the school. More details will be discussed at the informational meeting. 4-H Fair Entries

The White County Fair will be kicking off this coming Friday night August 29th with the goat and sheep show followed on Saturday by fair entries. If you have an entry you must bring it by between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Saturday August 30. Hope to see a lot of you there.

Summer has been busy!

75 4th 5th and 6th grade 4-H members and teen leaders and adult leaders attended 4-H camp the week of June 16-20. We had a wonderful week with wonderful weather. Ashlyn Cloyd, Taylor Bumbalough, Cameron Simpson, Kaytlyn Franklin, Dakota McCaskey and Emilee McBride all headed to the state show were we finished great in barrels, poles, and roping. Kristen Brown, Justin and Christopher Morton, Thomas and Lindsey Austin, Dallas and Augusta Felton, Thea Lawson and Josh Templeton all went to Murfreesboro to exhibit beef cattle the week of July 7. We had several high placings and Kristen won premier exhibitor and showmanship both at the state and regional show. Kellie Price and Kendalyn Chilton both made the trip on to Hyder Burkes Arena in Cookeville, for the Regional and State Sheep Expo. Kellie had the grand champion Hampshire at the Regional show and placed second and fourth at the State Expo. Thea Lawson , Elaina Elrod and Beverly Lawson are at 4-H Round Up this week in Knoxville good luck to Thea with her poulty portfolio. School will be starting soon and we will be busy this fall as well. See you all soon.

Its a new year and a new start for 4-H

Hello everyone , hope everyone is having fun in school today. With a new year hopefully comes a fresh start with 4-H in White County. We have new and exciting ideas for everyone. Camp is coming up, 4-H Congress, own my own project , chick chain , horse judging, livestock judging and many other events and classes yet to come. Keep a close look at the blog page for I hope to be utilizing it a lot more in the future.
